After registering a unit, there will be a warranty status indicator. This gives an idea on if the unit is covered under warranty. Green means that the unit is under warranty. If the light/dot is red, it can mean that's it's not eligible for a warranty, but it's possible it's still covered.
For the warranty status to be green, the unit must be registered, and the first subscription order is processed. In cases where a customer is purchasing through a third party, or outside of a subscription, the light/dot may not change to green. It's best to let customers know that during the warranty process, we hand review the warranty status, so if it's red, it doesn't mean they're automatically excluded from the warranty.
